Some of Our Work
Coastal erosion at Paralia Katerinis (Greece)
Proposal for the upgrading of the Port of Alexandroupolis (Greece) against future climatic pressures
○ Coastal engineering investigation under future extremes.
○ Coastal protection design: detached breakwater in front of the harbour entrance.
Modelling Tools used
Modelling results without (top) and with (middle) the proposed structure for the protection of the Port of Alexandroupolis (Greece), and 2016 satellite image of the wider area from Google Earth (bottom). The scenario presented here refers to an extreme event (50-year return period) of northeast waves with the following characteristics: significant wave height Hs = 3.65 m; peak wave period Tp = 9.19 sec.
